All floor plans come with your choice of a queen bed or twin beds. The 25FB and 27FB also offer an optional front bunk bed above the main sleeping area.

How many people does an Airstream International sleep?

Sleep capacity varies by floor plan. The International 23FB can sleep up to 4 people, while the 25FB, 27FB, 28RB, and 30RB models each sleep up to 6 people.

All International floor plans include:

  • A queen bed (60 inches by 75 inches) or twin beds (34 inches by 80 inches each) in the bedroom
  • A convertible dinette that transforms into sleeping space

The 25FB and 27FB floor plans have the option to add a front bunk bed measuring 31 inches by 86 inches. This bunk can hold up to 150 pounds and also works as extra storage when not being used for sleeping. Both bedroom configurations feature pillow-top memory foam mattresses, quilted bedspreads, decorative throw pillows, and sleeping pillows.

What kind of vehicle do I need to tow an Airstream International?

The tow vehicle you need depends on which International floor plan you choose. Here are the key weights for each model:

International 23FB

  • Base Weight: 5,100 pounds (with LP and batteries)
  • Hitch Weight: 500 pounds
  • GVWR (Gross Vehicle Weight Rating): 6,000 pounds

International 25FB

  • Base Weight: 5,700 pounds (with LP and batteries)
  • Hitch Weight: 860 pounds
  • GVWR: 7,300 pounds

International 27FB

  • Base Weight: 6,000 pounds (with LP and batteries)
  • Hitch Weight: 850 pounds
  • GVWR: 7,600 pounds

International 28RB

  • Base Weight: 5,900 pounds (with LP and batteries)
  • Hitch Weight: 860 pounds
  • GVWR: 7,600 pounds

International 30RB

  • Base Weight: 6,600 pounds (with LP and batteries)
  • Hitch Weight: 900 pounds
  • GVWR: 8,800 pounds

Your tow vehicle should have a towing capacity that goes beyond the GVWR of whichever model you pick. For example, the 23FB needs a vehicle rated for at least 6,500 pounds, while the 30RB needs at least 9,500 pounds of towing capacity.

Most mid-size and full-size trucks, SUVs, and some larger crossovers work well for towing an International. You'll also need a weight distribution hitch system to tow safely. Check your vehicle's owner's manual to find out its specific towing capacity and what it needs. If you're not sure whether your vehicle can handle it, the team at Airstream of San Diego in San Marcos can help you figure out what works best.

The International's size range makes it perfect for navigating everything from beachfront RV parks to mountain campgrounds.

Equipment Features: The International comes with optional solar panels and lithium batteries, which are perfect for off-grid camping at some of Southern California's more remote locations. The 15,000 BTU air conditioning system keeps you cool during warm summer days, while the 30,000 BTU furnace provides warmth during cooler evenings in the mountains. The enclosed, insulated, heated underbelly offers protection during spring and fall camping when temperatures can drop at night.
